POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. Psychiatric certification preferred. Prefer two years previous inpatient psychiatric nursing experience. Must be willing to complete BSN within two years of hire. Must demonstrate exceptional communication and critical thinking skills, and professional attitude.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to assume charge nurse duties and interact with nurses and physicians from other hospital departments. Assessment of psychiatric patients, medication administration, therapeutically interacts and educates patients. Document patient progress via Oaklawn’s computerized process. Communicate with multiple team members.
SPECIAL INFORMATION: Oaklawn Hospital is a Magnet facility. Our RN to patient ratio on the psychiatric unit is consistently in the 90th percentile, per NDNQI reporting standards.
